It was a summer wedding and the reception was in a downtown area. Now this downtown area always has events going on and the streets are filled with people. Everyone at the reception is partying and dancing and having a good time.

The Coordinators are hanging close by the gift table until we pack things up just to make sure nothing happens to them.. while hanging out in a nearby corner away from the party I noticed three individuals dressed nice, one female and two males, who walked through the door. I was pretty certain these three weren’t here the entire night.. They stop by the guest book and proceed to sign it 😳
•
So I approach the unfamiliar faces “hey, do you know the bride and groom, I hadn’t seen you all night?” She says yes we are a little late.
•
They proceed to the bar and hit the dance floor( I can’t make this up)!!! Me, still feeling uneasy, goes to the sister and asked her if these were friends of either.. after her confirmation that they indeed were not friends of either, we politely had security escort them out without causing a scene! They were cooperative. They never approached the couple and the couple was never bothered with it!

I honestly don’t think these wedding crashers were there to cause harm, but there to get free drinks and party! It could have been a lot different. They could have stolen gifts and cards had we not been close by.

So on this story telling Wednesday keep these things in mind if you don’t have a Coordinator:
✅have a designated person pack the gifts away either before dinner or right after but before the party begins.
✅Give cards to parents to keep close.
✅Invest in security for your event, most venues require it these days and I don’t blame them!
And of course if you don’t want to deal with any of this, you can hire us as your Day of Coordinators 🤗 ~Happy Planning
