Hey guys!! I hope everyone has enjoyed this stormy day! It was definitely a great day to catch up on some planning, right? :) While I've had some down time, I thought I'd take this time to talk on escort cards and place cards and how they're used at weddings. I get asked often, "What's the difference between an escort card and a place card?" Well, the answer is quite simple. A place card and an escort card will serve the same purpose at your wedding, and that is to let your guest know where they will be sitting for the reception. Place cards are "placed" on the tables for guest to find their seats. Couples usually have a seating chart that displays the guest name and table number. The place cards are set up ahead of time before the reception. Guest can locate their card with their name on it at the table setting. Place cards are more common for formal or black tie events that will have plated dinners. Couples sometimes use these to specify what entree the guest chose such as beef, chicken, etc. Place cards are becoming a popular trend due to the creative brides that dress up their place cards and use them as part of their table decor. Escort cards are beautifully displayed on a table by themselves with some beautiful flowers. Escort cards will have the guest name and table number on the card. Guest normally find their cards during cocktail hour so they know exactly where to sit. Displaying a unique escort table for your guest will have an inviting appeal. Make it unique and add your personalities.
